If you are looking for a new restaurant to try, one opened up Monday in Roseland.
For the past several months owners have been remodeling Weiss' Gasthaus.
While enjoying German music, you can dine on traditional fare like schnitzel, bratwurst with sauerkraut, or spatzle.
With hundreds of students moving into a new apartment complex across the street, they are looking forward to bringing a little bit of Germany to the South Bend area.
Christine Weiss says German food sticks to the basics.
“I think German food is you can call it down to earth food, it’s basic, mostly meat and potatoes and vegetables and German meat is usually accompanied by a sauce. And I think a good cook you know him by his sauces," she said.
