The company that rescued South Bend's ethanol plant figures it has earned the right to rename the street in front of the facility.
The street New Energy Drive still bears the name of the New Energy Corporation, which took a detour into bankruptcy court.
On Tuesday, the South Bend Board of Works approved a name change to something in the same spirit, but more generic.
From now on, the road will be called Renewable Road.
The change was requested by a company called Noble Americas. The company will spend $40 million over the next four years to modernize the plant.
