SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Today the city of South Bend approved the consolidation plans of a company that plans to bring over 500 jobs.
Nello Incorporated already has its corporate headquarters in South Bend, but plans to bring all of its manufacturing operations to town as well.
Nello makes towers for companies like Verizon and AT&T.
Currently, it has 2 facilities in Bremen, and a manufacturing site in Texas.
But Nello wants to consolidate its operations and create a corporate campus on the now vacant land north of the ethanol plant.
When all is said and done Nello promises to create 524 jobs.
“This was a business decision for Nello, and this is just another reason why, another illustration of why it's great to do business in Indiana,” said Scott Ford of South Bend Community Investment. “We're attracting companies from out of state to come to our community.”
Nello still has a couple more hurdles ahead.
In July it will go before the Area Plan Commission.
Then in August it will go for final approval before the South Bend Common Council.
