Need a good scare? Go to Niles Haunted House

Halloween is just around the corner and there are only a few weekends left until the Niles Haunted House and scream park close for the season.

This year's theme is An American Hobbit Story--a creepy combination of The Hobbit and American Horror Story. Each year the Haunted House opens for just 21 days, but that doesn't mean nothing happens during the remaining 324. In fact, a handful of full time employees and hundreds of volunteers work year round to put out a brand new show for thousands of patrons.

At the end of a long, dark, dirt road sits a haunted scream park, filled with a haunted house, field of screams, haunted hayride, some vodoo and a zipline.

As guests make their way through the attractions they're greeted by volunteers dressed in scary costumes, fully enveloped in their character.

Sparky, a long-haired and mask-wearing worker said the characters just seem to develop over time. Many of the folks working behind the scenes and dispersed throughout the attractions are devoted to their Halloween persona, reamaining in character from the time they put their costume make up on, until the time they leave for the night.

For anyone looking for something more than just a haunted house, Niles has exactly the thing for you.
