The Notre Dame football has great respect for Alabama. The two teams will meet January 7th for the national championship and the Irish know they are in for a challenge against a program that is playing in the BCS title game for the 3rd time in four years.
"I think Alabama has a great defense," says Irish quarterback Everett Golson. "You talk about their athletes and then you go to the defensive schemes. They are just well disciplined. They show that with the way they play their responsibilities and the way they conduct themselves."
And Alabama's offense brings similar traits that pose problems.
"I think they are great," admits Irish nose guard Louis Nix. "Alabama doesn't beat themselves. Barely make mistakes. They are a well coached team. I think they are a great team. They say this is a down year for Alabama. But God, they are a good team."
