Former Fighting Irish football player Justin Tuck will make an appearance in a USA Network special documentary scheduled to air Friday night.
In partnership with the NFL, the television network prodcued its second “NFL Characters Unite” documentary. The film is part of USA’s public service campaign to combat prejudice and discrimination.
Justin Tuck and three other NFL stars, each discuss how they overcame obstacles in their youth only to achieve enormous success later in life on the field. Tuck, who now plays for the New York Giants, says he faced bully as a student in school.
The documentary shows the players, including Tuck, Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals, Jameel McClain of the Baltimore Ravens, and Toy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers, going back to their hometowns and meeting with kids facing similar challenges.
According to USA Network, the goal is to help the young people realize how to achieve their own greatness after talking to the professional athletes.
