The murder trial of a Bristol man accused of killing a tattoo shop owner will not begin next month after the date was changed.
Todd Stewart, 35, is accused of killing Mark Miller, 44, last September. Two weeks later, Miller’s body was found inside a barrel in the St. Joseph River.
Stewart is facing up to 65 years in prison.
Police say the men were business partners.
Our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth say he was supposed to go to trial on Sept. 9, but that has now been changed to Jan. 6.
Stewart’s attorney requested the delay to have more time to prepare, and prosecutor’s didn’t object.
