Murder trial date set

ELKHART A trial date has been set for a man accused of gunning down an acquaintance while several friends stood nearby.

20-year-old Leeshawn Rodgers is accused of killing Eddie Johnson in April of last year.

Rodgers was reportedly standing outside talking with friends in Elkhart when Johnson approached him.The two walked around the corner of the home to talk. Minutes later, witnesses heard gunshots and saw Johnson fall.

Rodgers faces up to 65 years in prison if he's convicted. According to The Elkhart Truth, the trial is set for February 17th.
