Some Michiana buildings are getting a touch of color.

Buildings in Shipshewana are going to be experiencing some changes in the next few days.

Artists from the international group "WallDogs" were getting buildings prepared for murals in Shipshewana today.

Nearly 200 professional sign painters and artists from all over the world will paint 16 historic murals over the next four days.

Event coordinators hope the murals will be a lasting source of enjoyment for guests but will also help bring some pride to the town and to residents there.

“They get so much from it that way and it's also another thing this area can say, there's artwork around. They own it. It's their mural,” said Glenn Taylor, an artist working on the project.

Members of the group are inviting visitors to participate, and to be a part of the mural painting process from now until Saturday.
