Moving Wall Monument opens in Three Oaks

Three Oaks, Mich. More than 58,000 names are etched on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC. And this weekend you have a chance to visit, reflect, and remember at a replica of that wall.

Friday Legion Post Number 204 in Three Oaks held opening ceremonies to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The Moving Wall is in remembrance of all those who served, fought, and continue to guide our country to safety.

It's half the size of the original wall, but the stories, love, and emotion behind each name are just as powerful for visitors.

“I see a hero, a young guy who probably didn't know what he was getting into or what was going to happen all of a sudden and his life was taken real short,” says Steve Comer who was remembering a friend.

“I am looking for Billy Roussos, Iwent to school with him, he was a grade behind us,” says Dennis Redman a Vietnam Veteran. “But we both fought over the same girl his next door neighbor, too many people, I know a lot of them.”

If you'd like to see the wall it will be open 24 hours a day until Monday, August 26 at 8 a.m.
