LAPORTE, Ind.--- The mother of a boy who died at a daycare is suing the day care center.

According to The Times of Northwest Indiana, Anita Leflore is suing "Tricia’s Playhouse" in Michigan City along with its owner, Tricia Calvin.

The five-year-old boy died earlier this month when he was strangled by a jump rope as he went down a slide.

There weren't any employees outside when it happened.

The daycare center is closed, at least for now, while the state investigates the child's death.

The Laporte County prosecutor hasn't decided yet if he will file criminal charges.
