A Mishawaka man charged with having inappropriate contact with his five-year-old granddaughter plead guilty to federal charges this week.
Daniel Young, 52, entered the guilty plea for felony sexual exploitation of children after being arrested back in July. Young was visiting his granddaughter at her home when he allegedly took photos of the young girl while she was naked, in additional to touching her inappropriately.
The charges were filed after a joint investigation by the F.B.I, St. Joseph Country Police’s Special Victims Unit, and the Mishawaka Police Department.
This is not the first time Young has been charged with inappropriate relations with a child. In 2001 he was convicted on child molestation in a separate case.
Young’s sentencing will take place on February 7, 2013.
