An 11-year-old Mishawaka girl may be the youngest grocery store manager out there. Rosa Trippel has transformed her parent's basement into her very own Martin's store, which she runs with the help of her brother and friends.
It took Rosa and her family about three months to stock the shelves using empty food boxes. Like any good manager, she's at the basement Martin's nearly every day helping customers who stop by. And, despite the odd location, she says business is booming.
“Last year at the Super Bowl was my biggest day,” Rosa explained. “Because we had a party and all these people came and one by one I took them downstairs and I said would you like to buy anything? And I gave them $50. And some of them came back.”
Rosa said her employees haven't been paid lately because she ran out of fake checks.
She does have dreams of working at a real Martin's store someday and has already filled out an application.
Rosa said she enjoys checking people out because she loves math.
