Mishawaka celebrates 30 years of Summerfest

MISHAWAKA Summer is officially here, and communities all across Michiana are celebrating with festivals.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of Mishawaka Summerfest, there will be 30 attractions, including historic bus tours of the city.

The tours will leave from the Shiojiri Japanese Gardens at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. The tour lasts about an hour and 45 minutes. Tickets cost 10 dollars and you must reserve a seat. To do that, call 574-254-4540.

They also planned a fireworks display both Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30p.m., and for the early birds, there was a pancake breakfast and a 5k run.

Merrifield Park is more geared towards adults, with food vendors and entertainment. Crawford Park features more kid-friendly activities.
The event also features live music and dancing, as well as a karaoke competition Saturday night.
