Two local women are doing what they can to support an organization that aims to prevent child sex trafficking and violence against women and children.

The Middlebury women decided to organize a rummage sale to benefit, "Love 146," a non-profit named after a little girl in a brothel who was only known by her number, 146, to her captors.

The women said they were inspired to donate to the cause after hearing about it at a conference.

“Seeing a child that has their innocence stolen and they're not allowed a childhood to play and laugh and run, and they're not given that opportunity…it rips your heart out,” said Nicole Hochstetler, one of the organizers of the rummage sale.

“The three things that have been on my heart is that we can pray, we can give and we can tell others to do the same, and that's what the rummage sale is all about," said Jane Horst, the other organizer of the sale.

The rummage sale will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury.
