MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- Middlebury lacrosse players are fighting back against childhood cancer.

Saturday, the Northridge Raiders held a LAX Out Childhood Cancer event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

Teams from South Bend, Chesterton, Mishawaka and Lafayette participated in five games throughout the day.

The Raiders sold yellow t-shirts all to raise awareness about the search for a cure, and in support of Sam Grewe, one of their teammates.

Grewe lost part of his leg in his battle with osteosarcoma. He is now in remission.

This was the first year for the event, but organizers say they are already hoping to expand for next year.

Grewe scored two of the Raiders' three goals in their game. Unfortunately, it was not enough. Northridge lost 5-3.
