Michiana Apple picking orchards are now open for business

There's good news for apple lovers. A fresh crop is ready for picking, and it's looking good.

Last year the apple crop in Michiana took a hit because of an early frost. This year, despite a hot August, the apples are ripe for the picking.

WNDU stopped by "Eberly's Apple Orchard" in North Liberty on Monday where they've been in the U-Pick business since 1962.

Back then, owner Don Eberly says "U-Pick" farms were brand new and it was a tough change for him.

Many U-Pick orchards across Michiana are open for business right now.
