Two small Michiana high schools are being recognized for their big spirit.
Bridgman High School took the award for most spirited school in southwestern Michigan.
The online competition was sponsored by Senator John Proos. Schools got points by submitting photos and videos, and they earned bonus points for each "like" on Facebook.
Bridgman edged out another Michiana school for the win. Watervliet was the runner-up, getting just under 60,000 points. That’s compared to Bridgman's 74,000 points.
Each school submitted about 2,000 photos for the competition, accounting for 80 percent of the images entered by all 32 schools.
