Police say a drunken driver struck and killed a woman who was pushing her van after it ran out of gas in western Michigan.

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) Police say a drunken driver struck and killed a woman who was pushing her van after it ran out of gas in western Michigan.

The victim is Tonya Beha of Lake Odessa. Police tell The Grand Rapids Press that she and another woman were pushing a Honda van Saturday night on a bridge over Interstate 96 in Lowell Township.

There were seven people in the van, including children, when the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.

Jay Hobbs of Lowell was captured in nearby woods in Kent County. He's charged with an alcohol-related death and leaving the scene of a crash.
