A summer tradition in South Bend came back for another party along the banks of the St. Joe River Friday night.

There was everything from art to drinks at “Meet Me on the Island” at Island Park behind the Century Center in downtown South Bend.

The South Bend Museum of Art and WVPE sponsored the event.

For 24 years, Michiana residents have come for the food and atmosphere and stayed for the friends and fun.

“This is our 24th year of doing this it's just a great tradition and people do love to come down and meet friends and mingle,” said Peg Luecke, director of Marketing at the South Bend Museum of Art.

The Elwood Splinters Blues Band provided the tunes for Friday’s event.
