Get your shamrock, shilellelaghies and shenangians ready because St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner.
In South Bend Wednesday, the mayor renamed one city street between Jefferson Boulevard and Niles Avenue to St. Patrick's Boulevard. It's the official St. Paddy's kickoff.
Despite the snow flurries, some area residents were there, decked out in Irish colors and one man wearing a kilt, gearing up for this weekend's festivities.
“It's helpful to start building the anticipation and there are so many things going on downtown over the weekend,” says Carol Meehan the Lady of the House at Fiddler’s Health. “You really have to plan your weekend out.”
The new temporary street name is just part of how the holiday is being recognized in South Bend.
