TINLEY PARK, Ill. - It's a new beginning for a store where a mass shooting happened.

Five women, including South Bend resident Jeni Bishop, were killed during a botched robbery at a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park, Illinois. The February 2008 shooting remains unsolved and the store has been closed ever since, until this week.

A TJ Maxx renovated the space and held a grand opening ceremony for its new store on Thursday.

A moment of silence was also held for the shooting victims during that ceremony.

Company officials say they weren't aware of the slayings when they agreed to occupy the site.

The owner of the shopping center is also donating $10,000 to a charity created in memory of the five women.
