On Thanksgiving you eat turkey, and on Fat Tuesday you eat a Paczki's.
Tuesday just so happens to be Fat Tuesday, and the worker's at the Martin's Supermarkets Bakery were putting in some overtime.
The Paczki making started at 3 a.m. Monday, and by early afternoon, more than 2,000 dozens had been produced.
“They are a very rich pastry that the Polish have had for years,” explains Annette Karmolinski who works at Martin’s Bakery. “It is a big thing on Fat Tuesday because it is the day before Lent, so I think a lot of people want to get their sweets in.”
Martin's makes nine different Paczki fillings, Bavarian cream and cream cheese tend to be the most popular.
