Marshall Co. Marshall County is looking into a high-tech way to monitor the alcohol use of offenders they consider high risk.

Commissioners have heard a bid from a company that makes ankle bracelets that continuously check an offender’s blood alcohol level.

The company would also provide what's called a Silver-Link Unit, a breathalyser type device that some offenders would have to use on certain schedules. That's according to our reporting partners at the Plymouth Pilot .

A contract for both devices is currently before the county commissioners.
