Marching band plays for annual March Out

NOTRE DAME Folks driving near Notre Dame’s campus Thursday morning may want to turn the radio off. The sounds of the Irish marching band will fill the air for an annual tradition, the march out!

It will start outside the band rehearsal hall at 9:30a.m. and end at Stepan Hall.

The march out features some 500 students, including veterans and rookies auditioning for a spot in the band. This is the 168th year for the band.

Be on the lookout for traffic around campus as well. More students will be moving in, starting around noon, and even more will follow Friday morning beginning at 9 am.

Thursday is also move-in day for the 440 women who make up the class of 2017 at Saint Mary's.
