South Bend Police arrested a man last night in a South Bend park, and now detectives are trying to determine if he is connected to a shooting Tuesday night.
At approximately 6:45 p.m. Tuesday night, police received a call that a man with a gunshot wound was near the intersection of William and Jefferson, just three blocks west of the County-City Building.
That man was taken to the hospital.
About 20 minutes later, police received a call about a man with a gun and blood on his shirt at a nearby park. They tracked him down, arrested him, and found the gun.
However, police still will not confirm if the man arrested is connected with Tuesday night’s shooting victim.
