Just after 12 p.m. Frank Demske, 78, was found shot inside his auto body shop in the 1200-block of 8th St. in Mishawaka.
Police setup a perimeter, but quickly determined the shooting was accidental.
According to investigators, it appears the man fell while inside the office of his business, causing his gun to misfire and hit him once.
Despite that injury, doctors expect Demske to make a full recovery.
