ELKHART Candidates are lining up for Elkhart’s 2015 mayoral election.
State Representative Tim Neese filed paperwork earlier this week, and now a rather controversial face is signing up to run against him.
Back in June, NewsCenter 16 reported that the Walnut Hills Apartment Complex banned all flags because of one man’s decision to fly a Nazi flag on Memorial Day and on the day of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Now that man, Dale Duncan, is eyeing the top spot in city government. The Elkhart Truth reports that the 59-year-old, who is unemployed and receives disability, is running for mayor in 2015.
Duncan says he considers himself a national socialist. He'll likely face current mayor, democrat Dick Moore, as well as state representative, republican Tim Neese.
