Man unresponsive after moped crashed into guardrail

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.--- Multi-Township EMS has opted to ground transport the victim of a moped crash near the Devil’s Backbone in Warsaw.

The crash occurred on SR 25 south of CR 250 south around 5:15 p.m. Friday evening.

Shannon L. Hursey, 38, was found at the scene in the roadway suffering from a severe head injury.

Kosciusko County FACT team members stated that the initial
investigation has determined that Hursey was southbound on State Road 25 driving his Yamaha moped, and for an unknown reason, struck a guard rail on the west side of the roadway.

Hursey was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
