A Galien house guest has been sentenced to 300 days in jail and five years probation after he admitted to hiding a camera inside a shower in his hosts' home.
That's according to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium.
Joseph Shoemaker, 35, pleaded guilty last month to charges of eavesdropping and capturing the image of an unclothed person.
Police say he had been living at a home in Galien with a couple and their three children for the past four or five years, and was considered a trusted family friend.
The homeowners called 911 after finding the video camera in the shower. Police also discovered an audio recording device that had been planted in the couple's bedroom.
Shoemaker must also pay more than $2,600 in fines and costs and register as a sex offender.
