A Grovertown man was injured after falling from a tree stand Sunday in Starke County.

25-year-old Silas Wait was climbing into the stand when the support chain slipped. The platform gave way and Wait fell 20 feet to the ground.

He was airlifted to a South Bend hospital and is expected to recover.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind hunters to check all tree stand straps and always wear a harness.
