Man found lying on side of road taken to hospital

Elkhart - A man was taken to the hospital Friday evening, after drivers spotted him lying on the side of the road.

Emergency crews were called to the railroad underpass in the 700 b lock of Richmond St. around 7 p.m.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the man told police he had been struck by a car and did not know how long he had been in the road.

Police say he showed no obvious signs of injury and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

His name has not yet been released.
