7-foot sink hole discovered in Elkhart

Potholes are bad for cars, but what about sinkholes?

According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, a seven-foot deep hole is sitting in an Elkhart parking lot.

It was found when a man was looking for a parking spot at the family dollar store on Goshen Avenue.

He drove through what he thought was a puddle, and realized his front wheel was sinking.

A tow truck driver had to be called to help. He measured the sink hole's depth at seven feet.

The hole is reportedly a dry well that collapsed. It has now been covered.

However, before it was covered, some teens captured a friend on camera jumping into the puddle. It's gone viral on YouTube with more than a million hits in three days.
