An Elkhart man could face misdemeanor charges for illegal fishing after shooting a game fish with a bow and arrow.

The Elkhart Truth reports that 23-year-old Cory Barnett is accused of killing a 42-inch Muskie in High Dive Park.

He took it to an out-of-state taxidermist to have it mounted and was caught shortly after.

It's important to note that bow fishing is not always a criminal act. Small fish like suckers, carp, bowfin and buffalo can be caught in that way.
