A 76-year-old man was in court Monday morning accused of being the owner of a filthy home filled with cats.
James Robinson Sr. is charged with six counts of animal cruelty.
When the home in the 50000 block of Ida Street was discovered in April, only animals were living inside.
Officers who entered had to use respirators.
The floor was said to be covered in a slippery slime.
Nearly 40 cats have been removed from the home.
The county will open bids for the demolition work on July 8.
Robison is expected back in court on Aug. 25 for a pretrial hearing.
