Elkhart, Ind. A man charged in a 25-year-old rape case headed to court for his initial hearing.
That's according to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth.
Robert Quinn, 50, is charged with rape, child molestation and criminal confinement. If convicted on all three charges, he faces up to 90 years in prison.
Quinn is accused of kidnapping and raping a 10-year-old girl in March of 1988.
The victim asked police to look into the case again in 2011 and investigators found that the DNA taken two-and-a-half decades ago was still usable.
They linked it to Quinn, who was already serving time at the New Castle Correctional Facility for violating his parole from a 2005 child molestation charge. He's since been transferred to the Elkhart County Jail.
During Thursday's hearing, the court appointed a public defender to represent him. Quinn's trial date was also scheduled for November 18.
