A LaPorte man was arrested after being busted for using counterfeit money at a Michiana Walmart.
On Friday Brian Lindsey, 25, went into the Plymouth Walmart on North Oak and paid the retailer with fake bills, he then returned the items in exchange for non-counterfeit cash. Lindsey is now facing forgery charges.
Police say Lindsey used 11 twenty-dollar bills, all with the same serial number, to pay for his purchase. Officials say that he then made a money transfer using the real currency he obtained from exchanging the items he bought.
Lindsey admitted to the crime after he was brought in for questioned Tuesday, he is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on $10,000 bond.
