Man accused of beating officers and good samaritan after getting in car crash

Police say a drunken midday joy ride ended badly Tuesday afternoon.

Just after four p.m. police responded to car crash along State Road 15, just north of U.S. 20 near Bristol.

Elkhart County deputies arrived and found the driver attacking a good samaritan trying to help the man of out his flipped vehicle.

The driver, David Cain, 37, of Goshen started to beat on officers as well.

A breathalyzer found Cain had a BAC of .20, that's two and half times the legal limit.

Cain is currently behind bars on preliminary charges of driving drunk, battery, resisting arrest and driving without a license.
