Through Thursday's extreme weather, two area mayors spent time out of their offices to raise money for a good cause.
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Mishawaka Mayor Dave Woods had a little friendly competition while ringing a bell for the Salvation Army. Each of them took up post outside of Wal-Mart and started ringing.
Both say it was a great experience and hope to reminded folks just how important it is to help others that are in need in the community.
“You don't have to be rich you just have to find a few coins in there or a buck or two to help out a good cause,” says South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
“Volunteering is what makes me feel good,” says Mishawaka Mayor Dave Woods. “It feels like I am giving back to community and it is a pleasure.”
Looked like a close match, but we haven't heard yet who won the competition.
