South Bend, Ind. A local lawyer has been cleared of any misconduct following the arrest of abortion protestors during President Obama's visit to Notre Dame in 2009.
Thomas Dixon represented 85 protestors who were arrested on campus. Dixon aggressively argued that Judge Jenny Pitts Manier should recuse herself from the case, because her husband was a Notre Dame professor and a pro-choice advocate.
In a split decision the Indiana Supreme Court ruled that statements made by Attorney Dixon about the judge's integrity, were not false and reckless, and did not violate the professional code of conduct.
