In light of all the horror surrounding the Newtown massacre, schools in Michiana are taking no chances with threats. One high school is beefing up security Friday for that reason.
If you have a student at Clay High School they should have brought a letter home Tuesday from the principal.
Director of Communications for South Bend Schools, Sue Coney told NewsCenter 16 Tuesday afternoon that there was a fight at the school Monday.
She said some threats of a rumored incident to take place Friday at Clay, prompted the school to take action and send the letter home.
The letter states they have been in contact with both the City and County Police and there will be additional patrol cars on duty at Clay Friday and extra security inside the school. They are also limiting access into the building.
There was already a scheduled lockdown in place for Wednesday morning which is not connected to the rumors about Friday.
