Local artwork in Mishawaka is selling for a good cause. The University Park Mall is hosting the Festival of Art in the Village, to help support St. Margaret's House for Women.
Raymond James of Edison Park is sponsoring the event, which continues through Sunday evening right outside the Barnes and Noble at the UP Mall. Local artists have set up tents displaying paintings, clothing, jewelry and more to help bring awareness to local art and to support a good cause.
"It's great exposure for the fine arts,” says artist William Jensen. “Normally my stuff is seen at galleries, but for this to have retail outlets to support the local art is a new step. And again, St. Margarets is just a great charity and they are locally funded and are a great help, anything we can do to help."
Proceeds from the event and a silent auction Sunday night at 6:15 go to St. Margarets to help provide food, clothing, and other necessities for women in need.
