SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Michiana High School Basketball All-Stars took a break from focusing on the court to spend time with children going through a tough time.
The girl’s all-star team visited the Ronald McDonald House family room and intensive care unit.
They hung out with kids who are dealing with serious medical issues and tried to bring a bit of joy to their hospital rooms.
From handing out basketballs to just playing video games with patients the girls say the experience was very rewarding.
“Seeing the children and how older people can help them out makes me want to go into pediatrics or physical therapy,” said Kaitlin Elsasser, a Mishawaka High School student.
“It’s cool to get together with these girls as a group and come do something like this. It’s a special thing to do,” said Morgan Olson of Northwood High School
The boys all-star team members stopped by a bit later in the evening as well.
The two all-star games will take place tomorrow at Bethel starting at 5 p.m.
