Lincolnway East to be re-paved this summer

A much needed make-over is coming to a major Michiana road.

INDOT has big plans for Lincolnway East this summer.

Starting a week ago crews started working on deep patching many of the major holes on the state road. Eventually crews will repave the entire surface.

In the meantime lanes will be restricted sporadically along Lincolnway East from Capital Avenue to Ash Road, the Elkhart County line, for a few months.

Drivers are being told to expect delays.

Barbara Calvert from Osceola says, “We seen they were patching and we like oh my gosh is that all they are going to do? So that's awesome they are going to repave the whole thing.”

The road is expected to be finished by Labor Day.
