While South Bend's leaf program begins Monday, the program in St. Joseph County kicks off in one week.

South Bend's annual ReLeaf program is starting collection on Monday.

Each city neighborhood has two scheduled pickups. A map and schedule of when leaves will be collected in your area may be found on the City's website.

The department recommends raking those leaves to the curb, not onto the street.

And avoid parking on top or in front of leaf piles, which makes pick-up more difficult for collection crews.

Crews will not pick up piles that have sticks or other trash in them.

Elsewher, St. Joseph County's revived leaf pickup program will start Monday, Nov. 4.

Stay tuned for further information on the exact location.

This will be the first time the county has picked up roadside leaves since 2005. At that time, the program was deemed too expensive.

A new curbside pickup program was established earlier this year along with a ban on residential leaf burning.
