Fall weather is already causing trees to shed their leaves and coat the yards of Michiana residents.
Both South Bend and Mishawaka are taking steps to get those leaves off the grass.
South Bend is accepting call-ins earlier than usual this year, scheduling leaf pick-ups from now until Halloween. The actual collection will begin November 5th.

Mishawaka begins clean-up Monday. The pick-up schedule is just one day ahead of the weekly trash collection schedule, meaning if residents’ trash is collected Tuesdays, leaf collection will happen every Monday.
