A school superintendent in Southwest Michigan will likely be facing charges after he was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend, according to reporting partners at WSJM.

Lawrence Public Schools superintendent John Overley crashed his car in Almena Township on Sunday night.

It happened when he went to pass a car on the right after it turned on its left turn signal, but the driver then turned right instead.

No one was hurt in the accident, but Overley's blood alcohol level registered at 0.13.

He was arrested and posted bond and has not yet been charged.

NewsCenter16 spoke with Overley last month when a Lawrence High School senior was killed in a head-on collision in Granger just hours before graduation.

Tests showed the victim, James Reeder, 18, had marijuana in his system and a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
