The deadline for bidders to submit the price they're willing to pay for Madison Center's inpatient services has been extended.
Bidding was supposed to end Friday with a hearing on March 29, but according to Judge Michael Gotsch, the deadline had to be extended.
Gotsch says the new deadline is Thursday, March 31. The hearing will be held the next day.
The current high bid is $3 million from Memorial Hospital.
The value of the buildings alone, for tax purposes, is closer to $18 million.
Earlier this month WNDU learned that four other parties were interested in the properties but it's still unclear whether or not they'll make a formal bid.
In order to be considered, bidders must exceed Memorial's offer by at least half-a-million dollars.
The auction had been set for March 31.
If Memorial Hospital wins, they plan to keep providing inpatient mental health care.
