Last minute holiday shopping

With only one full shopping day left before Christmas, last minute shoppers were out in droves today to pick up presents to put under the tree.

Stores like Super Target in Mishawaka were slammed with gift-buyers, and made compensated extra staff on hand to deal with the rush. Many stores like Super Target are staying open until midnight, and will offer limited hours on Christmas Eve.

Julie Luce, a last minute shopper out this afternoon and says going down to the wire on gift-getting is not unusual for her, “Me and my mom are always the ones out last minute shopping so I guess it's kind of like our day. Since we're so much alike, but yeah, we get to pick out the neat stuff and try and find the last minute perfect thing for them.”

While many shoppers find braving the holiday crowds and sifting through shelves to be fun, retailers also enjoy hectic environment at this time of year.

Rachel Gosc works at Super Target and says, “There's a lot to do, it goes by fast. And it's a fun time of year to be in retail.”
