While there’s plenty of time left to Christmas shop, time is running out for anyone who wants to set up a Christmas shop of their own—rent free—in a vacant downtown South Bend store front.
“I would say everything’s on the table, but what we’re really gearing towards is a product mix that is going to appeal to gift shoppers, holiday gift shoppers,” said DTSB’s Tamara Nichol-Smith.
The deadline to apply for this year’s version of the Pop up Shop program is noon on Monday October 8.
“It’s free rent from November 2nd through December 31st for retailers who are interested in either test driving the downtown market or who just want to provide a really good product for holiday shoppers in downtown,” said Nichol-Smith.
The idea shop would have a wide range of gifts in a wide range of prices.
Applications for the Pop Up Shop program can be obtained on line or in person through DTSB.
